George “Bud” Scholl

George “Bud” Scholl currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of OneBlood (www.oneblood.org).  With 2,500 employees and annual revenues of roughly $450 million OneBlood is one of the largest not for profit blood centers in the US.  Prior to the formation of OneBlood, Bud served as chief executive officer of Community Blood Centers of Florida, a position he assumed after serving on the board of directors for ten years.
Prior to his second career in the not for profit space, Bud was an entrepreneur for more than thirty years, He developed a number of real estate assets and he spearheaded the successful turnaround of a number of distressed assets.  He was also a founder and top executive at Beach Bank, a community commercial bank, until its sale eight years after it was founded.
Bud’s civic engagement includes his 7 year role as Mayor of the City of Sunny Isles Beach (www.sibfl.net) until 2021. For seven years prior to his election as Mayor, he served as a City Commissioner.

In addition to being an ad-hoc member of the OneBlood board of directors, Bud currently serves on the boards of Secure Transfusion Solutions (www.securetransfusionsolutions.com) a compensation based apheresis platelet collection company based in Austin; iSpecimen (www.ispecimen.com) a publicly traded (NASDAQ: ISPC) human biospecimen procurement company based in Boston; Creative Testing Solutions (www.mycts.org) the largest infectious disease blood testing company in the US; OrSense Ltd (www.orsense.com) a non-invasive testing medical devices manufacturer based in Tel Aviv, Israel; and Prothya Biosolutions B.V. (www.prothya.com) a blood plasma derived pharmaceutical specialty manufacturing company based in Amsterdam, Netherlands and Brussels, Belgium.  He most recently served on the board of publicly traded HemaCare Corporation (NASDAQ: HEMA) until it was sold to Charles River Laboratories (www.criver.com) in 2020.

Bud is a graduate of the University of Florida and holds an engineering degree in computer science.
